1. What We Collect

From Your Account:

• Basic info: name, email, company
• Billing details (processed by Stripe)
• Support messages and feedback

From GitHub (when you authorize us):

• Repository metadata: names, branches, commits, PRs
• Code content only when needed for specific features you enable
• Your GitHub profile and organization info

From Our CLI:

• Usage data: commands run, performance, errors
• System info for debugging
• Opt out anytime: codeyam config disable-telemetry

From Your Browser:

• Standard web logs: IP, browser, device info
• Analytics on how you use our site and dashboard
• Cookies for login and preferences

2. How We Use This Data

To Make CodeYam Work:

• Run our GitHub App and CLI features
• Process your code (only when you use features that require it)
• Handle authentication and billing
• Provide customer support

To Make CodeYam Better:

• Fix bugs and improve performance
• Build new features
• Understand how people use our tools
• Send occasional product updates (you can opt out)

We never sell your data.

3. Who We Share With

Service Providers: We use trusted companies to help run CodeYam:

• AWS/Google Cloud (hosting)
• Stripe (payments)
• Analytics tools (for aggregated insights)

They're contractually required to protect your data.

Legal Stuff: We'll share data if legally required (subpoenas, court orders, etc.) or to protect our rights and users' safety.

Business Changes: If CodeYam gets acquired, your data may transfer with the business.

4. Keeping Your Data Safe

We use industry-standard security:

• Encryption everywhere (in transit and at rest)
• Limited access to authorized team members only
• Regular security audits

No system is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.

5. How Long We Keep Data

Account Data: Until you delete your account GitHub Data: While our app is installed Analytics: Anonymized data may be kept longer for improvements Legal Requirements: Some data kept longer if required by law

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may be able to:

• See what data we have about you
• Fix incorrect information
• Delete your data
• Opt out of marketing or telemetry

California Residents (CCPA): You have additional rights to know about and delete your personal information. We don't sell personal data.

EU/UK Residents (GDPR): We process your data based on our contract with you, legitimate business interests, or your consent. You can file complaints with your local data protection authority.

7. International Data

Your data may be processed in the US and other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate protections are in place.

8. Under 18?

CodeYam isn't intended for anyone under 18. If we learn we've collected data from someone under 18, we'll delete it.

9. Third-Party Services

We integrate with GitHub and other services that have their own privacy policies. This policy only covers CodeYam.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this policy as CodeYam evolves. Check back occasionally - continued use means you're OK with any changes.
