TabCommand Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Nod Labs, Inc. (“CodeYam”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with the TabCommand browser extension (the “Extension”).
1. The short version
TabCommand collects no data. The Extension has no accounts, no sign-in, and sends nothing to us or to any third party. Everything it knows about — your tabs, the groups and labels you assign them, your favorites, your history, and your settings — is stored only on your own device, inside your own browser.
2. Information we collect
None. We do not collect, store, or process any personal information through the Extension. Specifically, the Extension does not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers.
3. Data stored on your device
To do its job, the Extension saves the following locally using Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local):
- The tabs you have open, and the groups and labels you assign to them
- Tabs you have saved or favorited
- A history of tabs you have closed or visited, so you can reopen them
- Your settings (theme, column layout, auto-close interval, load thresholds)
This information never leaves your machine. It is not uploaded to any server, and it is not shared with us or with anyone else. You can remove all of it at any time by uninstalling the Extension, or by clearing its data from chrome://extensions.
4. Why the Extension asks for each permission
- Tabs: to read tab titles and URLs so they can be displayed, searched, grouped, restored, and closed for you.
- Tab groups: to create and manage Chrome tab groups that mirror your TabCommand groups.
- Storage: to save your groups, favorites, history, and settings locally on your device.
- Alarms: to schedule the periodic check that auto-closes tabs left inactive.
- System CPU and memory: to show your overall browser load in the Browser Load gauge.
TabCommand reads your tab titles and URLs only to display and organize them for you, on your own device. It does not read the content of the pages you visit, and it does not transmit your browsing activity anywhere.
5. No third parties, tracking, or advertising
The Extension contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. We do not track you across sites, and we do not sell or share any information, because we do not collect any in the first place.
6. Your control over your data
TabCommand includes one-click Import / Export, so you can back up your groups and settings to a file and restore them later. That file is written to your device and goes wherever you choose to put it; it is never sent to us.
7. Children's privacy
Because the Extension collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will publish the updated version here with a new effective date.
