What an MCPB is

This assumes you already have the Claude Desktop app. What you download is an MCPB, which stands for MCP bundle — essentially a local version of the MCP servers, or connectors, you probably already use inside Claude Desktop.

Install the extension

Double-click the file you downloaded. Search for Claude, the desktop application, open it, and you get a request to install the extension. If it is already installed you would click the button here to reinstall it.

1:03

Check that it is enabled

Make sure the extension is enabled. It should be on by default, which is what you want.

1:08

Open CodeYam in a new project

In a new project, say open CodeYam. Switch to a new folder — call it test — and confirm that you trust the workspace.

1:57

What opens, and what runs it

That opens the CodeYam MCPB, which opens the CodeYam editor in your browser. Claude Code is the agent doing the work behind it. Give it a moment and the editor appears.
