What it is

What TabCommand does

TabCommand is command central for a browser with too many tabs. It watches what you have open, lets you file tabs into named, colored groups (labels), search across all of them, and close what you are not using.

The toolbar popup is only a launcher. The real interface is a full-page React app that opens in a pinned tab, so it has room for group columns, counts and a load gauge on every tab. All state lives in chrome.storage.local: there is no server and nothing leaves the browser.

Extensions are hard to see while you build them, because every state depends on what the browser has open. CodeYam renders TabCommand against a mocked Chrome environment, so each state (empty, forty tabs, running hot, mid-search) can be opened and reviewed without loading the extension at all. The project is open source on GitHub.

Scenarios

Every state, captured

Each scenario is a saved state of the app with its own data. You can open any of them in the editor, and they run again as tests whenever the code changes.
